What SMEs Should Review Before Deploying AI-Enabled Software

Before release, SMEs should review architecture, security, privacy, cloud deployment, failure handling, and long-term ownership.

A pre-launch review does not need to be bureaucratic. It needs to be honest about where failures will appear once live traffic, customer expectations, and external dependencies hit the product.

Review these areas first

  1. Architecture: does the system have clear boundaries and owners?
  2. Security: are secrets, access controls, and abuse cases handled properly?
  3. Privacy: what data is leaving your stack, and why?
  4. Reliability: what happens when an upstream model or API fails?
  5. Cost: which components can spike in cost as usage grows?
  6. Support: who responds when a customer sees harmful or broken output?

The leadership question

The real test is whether someone can explain the launch posture in plain language. If not, the team probably needs a clearer readiness review before shipping.

Need lifecycle oversight?

If your team is shipping fast with AI, SystemSIP can help you tighten architecture, deployment, and post-launch governance before risk compounds.
